Setting Up Your Google Apps Account on Iphone or Ipad

Alternate Setup – Exchange connection (ActiveSync)

These instructions should allow you to fully sync your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad with your Google Mail, Contacts and Calendar:

  1. Tap Settings on the Home screen.
  2. Go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Under Accounts, tap Add Account.
  4. Tap Microsoft Exchange.
  5. Enter your full email address (uniquename@uniquedomain.com) under Email.
  6. Under Domain, Enter m.google.com . (NOTE: If you have a newer device with iOS6 you may not have this field. Continue to step 7.)
  7. Enter your full email address (uniquename@uniquedomain.com) under Username.
  8. Enter your email password under Password. (NOTE: If you did not have the Domain field then you need to enter an INCORRECT password here.)
  9. Change the default Description (My Exchange Account) to something else, such as “XYZ Google Account.”
  10. Tap Next.
  11. A warning may be displayed saying “Cannot Verify Server Identity.” Tap Continue.
  12. Enter m.google.com under Server.
  13. Clear the Domain field (removing the m.google.com entry you made before).
  14. Enter your email address (uniquename@uniquedomain.com) in the user name field.
  15. Enter the CORRECT password in the password field.
  16. Tap Next again.
  17. Make sure Calendars is ON.
  18. Turn ON Mail to enable push Google Mail in the Mail app.
  19. Optionally turn on Contacts. This will sync the contacts associated with your Google account.
  20. Tap Save.
